Area Attractions

New York City

The attractions of the world’s greatest city are less than an hour away from The Madison Hotel. New Jersey Transit’s Midtown Direct Express is literally a one minute walk from our front door and can transport guests to New York City’s Penn Station, the heart of Midtown. Broadway, Times Square, Rockefeller Center and all of the other exciting sites are an easy daytrip when one stays at The Madison Hotel.

The Mall at Short Hills is one of the most spectacular shopping Meccas on the entire east coast. Nearly 200 shops and restaurants surround the five main department stores: Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue. The Mall is located 10 minutes east of the Hotel and guests visiting from out of town will have an added bonus when they discover that New Jersey does not levy any tax on clothing or shoes.

Historic Sites

Morristown’s place in American history dates back to the Revolutionary War. Morristown and Madison

Both towns have picturesque centers and are great for strolling and visiting the shops, boutiques, galleries, restaurants and cafes that line the main avenues. Both are located within a five minute drive of The Madison Hotel in Morristown. Morristown, the largest of the two, hosts a Century 21 Department Store and a wide range of casual and elegant dining options.


Although Morris County public golf courses only accept tee-off time reservations from county residents, visitors wishing to golf do have several options.

The Morris County public golf courses will accommodate visitors on a first-come-first-serve basis and there are several courses within a half hour to 45 minute drive from the Hotel. These golf courses include Pinchbrook, Flanders Valley and the Royce Brook Golf Club. Our Concierge can assist guests with details regarding advanced reservations at any of these courses.
